Introduction

Welcome to Describe Image. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our image and short video description service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account or sign in, we may collect:

  • Email address for authentication and account communication
  • Profile information provided by your sign-in provider
  • Locale, sign-in provider, and basic account status

1.2 Uploaded Media and Generated Text

When you use Describe Image, we process:

  • Images you upload for description, alt text, OCR, SEO copy, captions, prompts, or related text output
  • Short videos you upload for video summary features, where available
  • Generated text results returned by the AI service
  • Optional prompt instructions you provide

For signed-in users, we may store the uploaded input media, generated text, model metadata, and related storage keys so your history can be shown in My Creations and so deletion/cleanup can remove related files. Guest usage is generally not saved to your account history.

1.3 Usage, Credits, and Transactions

We collect usage information needed to operate the service, including:

  • Feature usage, request mode, timestamps, and processing status
  • Credit deductions, refunds, check-ins, purchases, and subscription state
  • Rate-limit and abuse-prevention signals such as IP address

1.4 Payment Information

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers such as Creem and Stripe. We store order, subscription, product, amount, currency, and payment status metadata. We do not store full card numbers.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide image and short video understanding features
  • Generate descriptions, alt text, OCR, captions, SEO text, prompts, and summaries
  • Save signed-in user history and support deletion
  • Manage accounts, credits, subscriptions, payments, and refunds
  • Prevent abuse, enforce limits, and keep the service secure
  • Debug failures, improve reliability, and respond to support requests

3. Storage and Retention

3.1 Uploaded Media

Uploaded media is sent to AI processing providers to fulfill your request. For signed-in users, input media may also be stored in our Cloudflare R2 storage as part of saved creation history. Stored media is linked to the corresponding creation record and is removed when you delete that creation or when automated cleanup removes expired records.

3.2 Generated Text Results

Generated text results may be saved to your account history. Creation history is intended to be temporary and is generally cleaned up after the retention period configured for the product, currently 30 days.

3.3 Account, Credit, and Payment Records

Account, credit, order, and subscription records are retained while your account is active and as needed for security, accounting, tax, legal, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution purposes.

4. Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell your uploaded media or generated text. We may share data with:

  • AI infrastructure providers, such as Replicate, to process your request
  • Cloud storage and hosting providers, including Cloudflare R2 and our hosting platform
  • Payment processors, including Creem and Stripe
  • Email, analytics, logging, and support providers where needed to operate the service
  • Authorities or third parties when required by law or needed to protect rights, safety, or security

5. Your Choices

  • You can delete saved creations from My Creations when available.
  • You can copy or export generated text while it is available.
  • You can request account or data deletion by contacting us.
  • You can cancel paid subscriptions according to the Refund Policy.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS/TLS, access controls, and limited operational access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

The service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. By using the service, you consent to this processing where permitted by law.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
